The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ

  The Gospel of God is the Good News that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone apart from anything we can do or have done. If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ you will be saved. This is the glorious gospel and it is truly good news.

  First, however, a person must understand that they are a sinner before a Holy God. We must understand our desperate need for a savior because we have all sinned by breaking His Holy law and there is none good before a Holy God.

Listen to what God says in Romans 3:

9  What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;
10 as it is written,

         “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
               11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS,
         THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;

Having broken the law of God we are all under His wrath.

          19  Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;
          20  because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
          21 But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
          22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;
          23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
          24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

The law of God:
  Is like a mirror that shows us who we are, that we are sinners. Trying to use the law to make yourself acceptable to God is like using the mirror to clean up your appearance. We would never do that because the mirror only reflects our condition just like the Law of God can only demonstrate our awful condition before a Holy God. Trying to keep the law when we are unable to do so only increases our condemnation before Him.

Saving Faith

     John 3:14  “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
 So what does it mean to believe in Jesus Christ for eternal life and to escape the wrath of God?

  Saving faith is believing, it is trusting in the person of Jesus Christ. The Jesus of the Bible who is God in the flesh. Fully God and fully man who lived a perfect and sinless life.

Jesus Christ who was crucified on a cross, died and was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day. The Bible commands men everywhere to repent, to turn from their sins and unbelief and to obey the gospel of God.  Salvation is by God's grace alone.

  The gospel of God is the power of God unto salvation. If you are reading this please understand you cannot save yourself by doing good works. Your sin has already condemned you before a Holy God who will on the day of judgment cast you into to a real place called hell where you will spend your eternity.

Someone says, "But I am a good person"

  When the Bible says there is none good, the good that is being referred to is according to God's standard of good. We can deceive ourselves into thinking we are good because we may have never committed a murder or robbed a bank etc. But if you have hated someone or stolen something including a person's reputation by gossip, or murdered someone by hating them or by refusing to forgive them you have broken the law of God and are therefore condemned.

Saving faith is an obedient faith

  Many today say that one can become a Christian, be truly saved and live a life in sin and apart from the church or any obedience to the commands of Christ. This is called the doctrine of the "carnal Christian". In this teaching as long as you have prayed a prayer or said you are a Christian then you are no matter how you live.  You have your ticket to heaven. But please understand that the Bible does not teach any such doctrine.

(Please read John 3:1-10)

  A person whom God has truly saved will want to please God and will seek to obey Him and to forsake sin. This does not mean that we will live a sinless life, it does mean that we will pursue a life of holiness and repentance, we will want to live a life pleasing to God and not live to please ourselves.

  Repent today and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have believed then please contact us and let us know, we would love to be of help to you.
