Elders (or pastors) are men ordained to care for the spiritual needs of the church. Their duties include preaching, teaching, shepherding, counseling, leading, and overseeing the spiritual matters of the church. They also administer the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and they guard the church against doctrinal error or practical dangers. For more details about Elders, please read paragraphs 8-11 of chapter 26 in our Confession.
Pastor Bill Rhetts
Bill is married to a wonderful wife. They enjoy serving the Lord and His Church together. They also enjoy their grandchildren, ham radio, and exploring God’s creation via camping, off-roading, and the excitement of the ocean. Though his primary care is for the local Church, he also heralds the Gospel out in the public square.
He is a graduate of Louisiana Baptist University - Theological Seminary. His undergraduate studies are in Biblical Studies (with a concentration in ‘Pastoral Ministries’), and through his postgraduate studies, he earned his master’s degree in Bible and Theology.
He describes himself as an “ordinary sinner saved by an Extraordinary Savior,” who of himself is "nothing but excrement in God's holy hand."
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry” (1 Tim. 1:12).
